Starting therapy is an important step toward healing and growth, and I am here to guide you through every phase of the process. Here’s what you can expect when working with me.
Your First Intake Session
During your first intake session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, background, and any specific challenges you’re facing. I’ll also explain the therapy process, confidentiality, and any policies to ensure a clear understanding of our work together.
Paperwork & Documentation
Before your session, you will receive some intake paperwork to complete. This will include basic personal information, medical history, and any relevant details about your mental health and physical health (particularly for those with chronic illness). This paperwork helps me understand your unique needs and ensures we create a plan that best supports you.
Creating Your Individualized Treatment Plan
After our initial session, we will work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects your specific goals and needs. This plan will outline:
✔ Therapy Frequency – How often we should meet to achieve the progress you desire (weekly, biweekly, etc.).
✔ Goals for Treatment – Whether it’s managing chronic illness, reducing anxiety, improving self-esteem, or navigating life transitions, we’ll set clear, achievable goals.
✔ What Therapy Will Look Like – We’ll discuss the therapeutic approaches that will be most helpful to you. Your treatment plan is flexible and can evolve as you progress.Moving Forward Together
Throughout therapy, we’ll continue to evaluate your progress and adjust the plan as needed. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where we can work together to foster resilience, build coping skills, and ultimately help you live the life you want, even in the face of challenges.
If you have any questions or concerns along the way, I am here to help! Let’s work together to create a path toward your goals.

Maintaining your privacy and trust is my top priority. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic process and ensures that you feel safe sharing openly without fear of judgment or exposure.
Here’s what you can expect in terms of confidentiality during therapy:
Privacy and Security
Session Privacy: Our conversations are private and will not be shared with anyone without your written consent, except in certain legal or ethical circumstances.
Secure Telehealth: If you're participating in virtual therapy, I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for our sessions, ensuring that your personal information is protected from unauthorized access.
Paperwork Confidentiality: Any forms or notes I take during sessions are stored securely and will only be used for the purpose of supporting your treatment.
Limits to Confidentiality
While confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy, there are a few legal and ethical exceptions where information may need to be disclosed:
If there is concern for your safety or the safety of others.
Mandatory reporting responsibilities of abuse/neglect/dependency.
If I am required by law to share information (such as in a court case), I will discuss this with you ahead of time.
Per your request with a completed Release of Information form.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask questions about confidentiality at any time during therapy. If you ever have concerns, we can talk openly about them. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and trusting environment for you to work through challenges and achieve your goals.
If you have any further questions about confidentiality or how it applies to your therapy, feel free to reach out!

I do not accept insurance directly. However, I understand the importance of making therapy accessible and affordable. To assist you in using your insurance benefits, I can provide a superbill upon request.
A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes all the necessary information for your insurance company to process reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. You can submit the superbill to your insurance provider, and depending on your plan, they may reimburse you for part or all of the cost of therapy. It’s important to check with your insurance company to confirm whether they offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers and what their specific requirements are for submitting a superbill.
If you have questions about how to use a superbill or need more details, feel free to reach out.
